This was like opening a box of chocolates! I can’t wait to read these recommendations. I wholeheartedly agree that setting can be a character in and of itself. Thank you for this juicy list!

What a lovely reflection and list of recommendations!

Under current is also on my TBR list (and comes recommended by Tanya!). I read A Year of Magical Ways a number of years ago now but remember it being very magical indeed, in a sort of Magical Realism kind of way. Perhaps time for a re-read!

Enjoy your literary escapes ☺️

Thomas Morris comes to mind! And Seren Books have a good selection to explore for different genres.

I still haven't read but have also heard good things about Drift by Caryl Lewis x

Oooh, I'm adding these to my book wish list. I love the Salt Path and I'm a huge fan of Cathy Rentzenbrink too x

Thanks 🥰 Have you seen The Salt Path movie? I can’t decide whether to watch or not. I loved the book so much I don’t want it to be spoilt for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I didn’t know the movie had been released. I’m very torn…brilliant actors but like you say, I don’t want it to spoil the book for me.

You are right it is not out until April. I had seen it advertised quite a bit so assumed it was out 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thanks Nicola there are some wonderful book suggestions here. I love Cornwall it is so beautiful and still wild, but as you say there is so much inequality. In the winter everyone leaves. Although it has such a rich history and cultural heart 😘😘
